Law360 reports that Lowenstein clients Service Employees International Union (SEIU) and other unions have been granted summary judgment on defamation and trade libel claims made by nursing home operators. U.S. District Judge Susan D. Wigenton’s ruling was based on Third Circuit precedent and the absence of evidence that the statements, which were made during a labor dispute, were in fact defamatory.

Matthew Boxer, partner and Chair of Lowenstein’s Corporate Investigations & Integrity and White Collar Defense practices, and C. Patrick Thomas were part of the team representing the SEIU and its affiliates in the litigation.
