Lowenstein Sandler has been named “Law Firm of the Year” by the Hispanic Bar Association of New Jersey (“HBA-NJ”), a nonprofit association comprised of attorneys, judges, law professors, law students, and other professionals who share a common interest in addressing the issues affecting Hispanics within the legal community. This honor recognizes the firm’s dedicated and demonstrated commitment to diversity and inclusion in the legal profession.
Lowenstein has been a longtime supporter of the HBA-NJ: three Lowenstein partners have served as the organization’s President, including most recently Reynold Lambert of the firm’s Business Litigation and Class Action Litigation practices. Jennifer Monge and Yelky Perez of Lowenstein’s Corporate department have also actively participated in HBA programs: Monge is currently a member of the HBA-NJ board, and Perez earned a scholarship from the HBA-NJ as a law student.
Lambert, who continues to serve the HBA-NJ in his current role of Immediate Past President, says: “Inclusivity has been an integral part of Lowenstein’s DNA since its inception. Our long standing, multigenerational commitment to the HBA-NJ supports the goals shared by both of our organizations: to break down barriers, foster a more diverse legal landscape, and address and alleviate issues affecting the Latinx community in New Jersey.”
The award was announced at the HBA-NJ’s 41st Annual Scholarship Gala & Awards Dinner on July 8 at The Venetian in Garfield, NJ.
Lowenstein takes an intentional approach to advancing the development, recruitment, retention, and promotion of underrepresented talent in the legal profession by setting strategic goals, implementing effective training, enhancing underrepresented talent recruiting efforts, providing talent development programs, and implementing policies that break down systemic barriers.
In the past two years, the firm has been recognized as one of Vault’s 2022 Best Law Firms for Diversity; was named to Bloomberg Law’s inaugural Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI) Framework; for the third consecutive year was named a Compass Award winner by the Leadership Council on Legal Diversity; received a 100 percent rating for the sixth year in a row on the Human Rights Campaign Foundation’s 2022 Corporate Equality Index (CEI); and, the firm has achieved and exceeded Mansfield Rule Certification standards.
