Lowenstein Sandler today announced the launch of Lowenstein AI Chatbot, a customized chatbot aimed at improving the experience of users navigating content on the firm’s website.
“We are thrilled to be leading the charge as one of the first major law firms in the country to implement generative AI to help clients and other website users efficiently find the targeted answers they seek or the specific lawyers they want to contact,” said Lowenstein Chief Marketing Officer Kevin Iredell, who is also president of the Legal Marketing Association.
Iredell adds: “In addition to being intent-driven, conversational, and personalized, this tool maintains Lowenstein’s highest standards of cybersecurity and client service.”
Lowenstein’s Chief Operating Officer Michael R. Caplan says: “By quickly recognizing the power of generative artificial intelligence—and then building this customized chatbot from the ground up—Lowenstein tangibly demonstrates that we are early adopters. We understand our clients’ objectives and challenges regarding AI technology because we are immersed in it ourselves; therefore, we are ideally suited to counsel companies who want to harness the potential of this groundbreaking technology.”
Mark P. Kesslen, Chair of Lowenstein’s Intellectual Property group and a leader of its interdisciplinary practice Lowenstein AI, adds: “Our firm’s decades-long focus on the technology sector gives us unparalleled experience in guiding clients through uncharted regulatory landscapes in disruptive industries like crypto, fintech, and now AI. Our new AI Chatbot illustrates that at our firm, we practice what we preach: we not only advise companies on leveraging cutting edge technology to their advantage, but we strategically employ that technology ourselves.”
The firm’s Marketing team worked closely with Lowenstein’s Data, Privacy & Cybersecurity, AI, Emerging Companies & Venture Capital, and Intellectual Property attorneys on using RAG (Retrieval Augmented Generation), which leverages the technology of large language models by referencing an authoritative knowledge base outside of its training data sources before generating a response. Lowenstein’s interdisciplinary teams trained the tool using all the information and data contained on Lowenstein.com, and then subjected it to vigorous testing and training for over six months.
RAG systems enhance the capabilities of language models by integrating external data sources, allowing them to pull in relevant information to generate more informed and up-to-date responses.
Lowenstein AI Chatbot is intended to provide streamlined access to lowenstein.com-related information and is not a substitute for obtaining professional or legal advice about a specific question from an appropriately licensed attorney. Responses are intended for educational and informational purposes only. Lowenstein retains queries for business development and training data–do not input any sensitive information. Use of Lowenstein AI Chatbot is subject to all of the terms of use of lowenstein.com, which can be found here.
