The LGBTQ Rights Section Annual Update 2023 Seminar, featuring Lowenstein’s Zachary L. Berliner, will cover challenges to sustaining equal justice and LGBTQ+ rights in various arenas in New Jersey and elsewhere, as well as practical strategies for legal practitioners in any area to promote equal justice, procedural fairness, and inclusive practices. Zach will discuss ways to further these goals for LGBTQ+ adults, including Lowenstein’s longstanding partnership with the Transgender Legal Defense and Education Fund’s (TLDEF) Name Change Project, which Zach co-leads and through which Lowenstein attorneys have represented over 100 pro bono transgender, gender-expansive, and non-binary clients in seeking judicial name changes.

The program will consist of two 100-minute sessions, one on youth and one on adults. Each session will allow time for attendees to ask questions and share in addressing hypotheticals presented.
