Overview
The cost of going to trial can be steep—often with significant impact to a company’s budget, business relationships, and corporate reputation. Alternative dispute resolution (ADR) allows parties to expedite settlements, minimize expenses, and stay focused on their overall business objectives. Lowenstein has always offered our clients innovative alternatives to the traditional delivery of legal services: our ADR team enables businesses and individuals to resolve disputes in a discrete, manageable way that allows for more predictability, flexibility, and efficiency.
Our ADR team is led by a former Chief Judge of the District of New Jersey and includes a former New Jersey Supreme Court Justice, a former New Jersey Attorney General, and numerous former federal prosecutors and experienced trial lawyers. Their combined experience includes managing complex commercial cases, such as MDLs, mass tort cases, and class actions; conducting highly sensitive and confidential corporate investigations; and reaching satisfactory resolutions for clients through effective negotiation with the government and private parties on a wide variety of criminal, civil, and regulatory issues.
Our lawyers have both represented clients and presided over disputes involving issues ranging from trusts and estates and bankruptcy litigation to product liability and consumer fraud in such sectors as financial services, life sciences, technology, insurance, and telecommunications, among others. In addition to our advocacy, our partners frequently serve as neutral arbitrator, special master, and mediator in complicated, high-stakes disputes, including domestic and international arbitrations.
