Recognized for his tenacity, creativity, and sound judgment, Michael T.G. Long (“Mike”) is a trusted advisor, problem solver, and skilled and deeply experienced litigator.
Mike has extensive experience conducting internal investigations and handling matters involving bribery and public corruption, criminal antitrust and international cartels, criminal tax evasion, and financial and health care fraud. His practice also includes complex commercial litigation, including civil RICO claims, business divorce matters, real estate litigation, and state and federal appeals.
Mike returned to Lowenstein after serving for over two years in public service as the Director of the Division of Law within the New Jersey Attorney General’s Office. As Director, Mike led over 500 attorneys in providing legal advice and counseling to all of the state’s various departments and agencies, including the Departments of the Treasury, Labor and Workforce Development, Environmental Protection, Banking and Insurance, and Transportation, as well as the Division of Consumer Affairs and the Bureau of Securities. He personally oversaw the State’s most high-priority and sensitive cases, including numerous institutional reform efforts and litigation, budget and public finance issues, large environmental, energy, and regulatory lawsuits, and affirmative civil enforcement matters of all types.
Mike is also deeply committed to serving the community. For many years, he has consistently made pro bono initiatives a priority in his practice, including representing victims of domestic violence, advocating for prison and parole reform, advancing environmental causes, and seeking protections for members of the LGBTQ+ community. Mike also holds leadership positions on the boards of several youth athletic programs and has enjoyed coaching children for many years in football and lacrosse.
Prior to joining the firm, Mike served as a judicial law clerk to the Hon. James R. Zazzali of the Supreme Court of New Jersey.
