Farrell J. Miller is a skilled litigator who helps policyholders recover the insurance benefits they are owed. He advises businesses on insurance recovery strategies and represents them in disputes seeking coverage under commercial general liability (CGL), directors and officers (D&O) liability, first-party property damage and business interruption, and errors and omissions (E&O) insurance policies. He represents clients in pre-suit negotiations, litigation, arbitration, and mediation, always focused on getting the best possible outcome while providing cost-efficient service.

Before representing policyholders, Farrell spent nearly a decade working for global insurance companies in high-stakes coverage disputes. His deep understanding of insurer strategies, claims-handling practices, and coverage defenses gives him insight into the best avenues for enforcing policyholder rights. He uses that knowledge to push back against claim denials, payment delays, and bad faith conduct—while carefully evaluating the best way to maximize insurance recovery.

Farrell knows full-blown litigation is not always the most effective solution. He tailors his approach to each client, prioritizing early resolution and strategic negotiation while holding insurers accountable. When litigation is necessary, he aggressively fights to secure full coverage benefits by pressing leverage issues and countering insurers' typical delay tactics.

Before joining Lowenstein Sandler, Farrell was a partner at an Am Law 100 firm, where he handled complex insurance coverage matters. Earlier in his career, he practiced white-collar criminal defense and gained trial and appellate experience.

During law school, Farrell interned with the New York Appellate Division, First Department; the Kings County (Brooklyn) District Attorney’s Office; Brooklyn Defender Services; and the Federal Public Defender for the Western District of Washington.
