Bonnie Schipper works with private equity funds, financial institutions, startups, and public and private companies on transactional matters such as at-the-market offerings, divestitures, minority investments, debt financings, fund formation and growth, and general corporate matters. She has also assisted clients in matters involving securities regulation and compliance, capital raising transactions and general corporate governance.
In addition, Bonnie provides counsel on intellectual property transactions and diligence; licensing, maintenance, and enforcement of trademarks and copyrights; and other intellectual property and commercial contract matters. She assists clients with U.S. and international trademark applications, from pre-filing trademark clearance through to registration. Bonnie also supports brand protection efforts through preparing and fling online takedown complaints, domain name complaints under the Uniform Dispute Resolution Process, and lodging and defending a variety of trademark and copyright cease and desist matters.
Prior to her legal career, Bonnie worked as a venture investment analyst for a venture capital fund focused exclusively on making equity investments in underrepresented minority entrepreneurs.
Bonnie earned her J.D. and M.B.A simultaneously. She has held internships within the legal departments of the Coca-Cola Company, the U.S. Equal Employment Commission, and the U.S. Department of Education’s Office of Civil Rights. She also spent time as an MBA intern at the United Nations Capital Development Fund, HP, Inc., and Taco Bell’s corporate offices.
Bonnie is a former participant in the program ‘Technological Innovation: Generating Economic Results,’ sponsored by Emory University and Georgia Tech, in which she collaborated with engineers and national laboratories on start-up projects to transform highly promising research into economically viable projects and pursue necessary intellectual property protections.
